Zegyo Market, located in downtown Mandalay, is the oldest and most important market in Mandalay.HistoryZegyo Market, covering 12 acres, was founded during the reign of King Mindon. It was a principal distribution center for beans, citrus fruit, cotton, nuts, onions, rice, tobacco and wheat as well as the main market for jewellery and handicrafts such as silver and gold embroidery. The market was totally destroyed by fire in 1897, and rebuilt in 1903 with a masonry structure designed by an Italian, Count Conte Calderari. In the 1990s, the colonial era structure was pulled down and replaced with a Chinese-style shopping center.

  • Without having seen the spice and fish do not know well, colorful vegetables and fruits. Is the market being able to glimpse local life. There were a lot of fabrics during the building. Buy Neem SOAP 4 Pack 400 K, Rambutan 5 500 K (+1-tasting) and eating a lime scented Tanaka paste a small bottle of 300 K, such as, ramble Itsy, enjoyed. Are tourists is not for tourists. Rather than not agree with Barker, almost didn't speak English. Better watch out pickpockets and car wouldn't be bad, but very crowded so good.

  • Shops selling clothes arranged in Myanmar and ethnic costumes, modern clothes, even a lot of fun. Disturbingly, particularly children's clothing is pretty much to choose. Be careful to avoid dehydration so sultry, airy market
