  • This is a very sparkly pagoda because of all the glas mosaic covering many surfaces. It is at the pinnacle of Mandalay Hill and it's parapets and terraces provide a faboulous view of the surrounding.....  more »
  • The endless archways with Burmese script, the shiny floors, and the colorful inlaid mirrors on the columns make the temple looked so impressive. There is a sitting Buddha image inside the pagoda...  more »
  • Su Taung Pyae Pagoda at top of Mandalay Hill. 1,729 steps per our cab driver Ko Myat Tun. We drove to the base of the entrance, and took three escalators to the top; 1,000 kyats each. Great 360...  more »
  • Situated atop the Mandalay hill, many devotees choose to walk all the way up as do many tourists and health enthusiasts. Once one reaches its base, there are stairs as well as an escalator to go up. There is a divine beauty in this place. There is elaborate mirrorwork on the arched corridors encircling the inner shrines. It is a place that offers beautiful outer and inner views. One thing definitely needs to be pointed out with regard to all places of importance, religious, historical, cultural or even political, in Myanmar---' it would be of great service to one and all if there were display boards and inscriptions in English as well along side the local Burmese ones.
  • One of the nicest Pagoda we visited. Here is also a very famous sunset point, which is nice but if I had to choose I would prefer the Ubein point. Several monks were here to have a chat with tourist, which is always very instructive and interesting.
  • Beautiful monastery located on the top of Mandalay hill. The inside of the monastery is covered in colored glass and mirrors which give it an unique sparkly look. It can be reached by climbing 700 odd steps or by bike / car and then an elevator. It is a good place to interact with local monks and university students who come to practice their english with foreigners.
  • It was a great temple of Buddha.....started walking from the base to reach the hill... It took 30 minutes to walk to the top of the hill.... spent some time at the temple and again started walking down and from there to my hotel room.... it took almost 2 hours walk from there.... but it was good and cool.....
  • Beautiful path leading to the top. If you are fit enough you should definitely walk
