Visit Sanda Muni Paya to see why many call it the world's largest book. Situated at the base of Mandalay hill, the site features scores of brilliant white stupas, each containing marble slabs with inscriptions of the Buddha's teachings--1,774 "pages" in all. The 19th-century pagoda houses an enormous iron statue of Buddha, entirely gilded. Bear in mind that you need to take off your shoes prior to entering here.   • This pagoda has a lot of little mini structures that house stone slabs with scriptures. There are over 1000 of these surrounding the pagoda. Very cool sight to see!
