Where to stay in Bagan

Bagan accommodations try their best to fit in with the atmosphere of spirituality and mystery that clings to the temple town. As such, you won't find any high-rise hotels here. Instead, a number of squat wooden lodges, converted traditional houses, and new boutique resorts (all pretty low to the ground) provide the main options for those staying in town. Among them, you'll find some that offer a slightly better range of facilities--including well-maintained pools and restaurants--and others that offer basic dormitory accommodation.

  • Arrive around 1630 already have photography lover there to wait for the sunset( sunset time is 1836) Too shiny even can't open the eyes But the results is really worth it  more »
  • I found this Pagoda absolutely amazing. I loved this type, I thought this with the dirt roads around was stunning. Whilst exploring all the temples, sunrise and sunset it's worth renting the e-bikes a...  more »
  • This is a temple that near the main road. However, it is a bit dangerous to climb after the earthquake in last year. Just be careful and enjoy the peaceful sunset.  more »

  • Good place to watch the sunrise but not much of a view if you are looking for those pagodas in your sunrise photo. It's best to go early around 5:30am so you can get the best spot on top of the pagoda.
  • Such an awesome feeling to be cruising on a bike in-between the 2229 temples of the mesmerising Old Bagan! Climbing temples, searching hidden passages, catching sunrises and sunsets - experience of a lifetime! 🌄 This temple is more 'low-key' however still offers a nice climb and spectacular views with very few people around! ✨
  • Less crowded, and perfect if you want to see the landscape instead of other buildings.
  • Great small pagoda for sunset. We arrived by 4:45 and were able to get a spot up top. It can get crowded for the size but was worth the break from the main crowds.
  • Best small pagoda to view sunset, sunrise or stars gazing at night. Go early so as to grap the best seats. The climb up can be daunting for those who fear heights or are timid. It will get crowded nearer to the time of sunset or sunrise. Some of the steps are steep & narrow. Not very well kept condition due to all the climbing by visitors.
