Alfonso and Miguel took us to Magaruque island for the day. Their hospitality was fantastic - starting with coffee and biscuits, and later a Mozambican lunch of chicken, calamari, rice and salad - all cooked on the boat, Nothing is fancy but the experience is authentic, and great value for money. The snorkeling was fun with a lot of interesting fish at the reef. Sailing back to the mainland without the motor running brought a quiet, restful close to a sunny, colourful day.

Absolutely wonderful! A definite highlight of my time in Mozambique. The staff was very helpful and friendly - Dom in particular went out of his way to make sure I got the most out of my time in Vilankulo. You feel like you are surrounded by a bunch of happy people who love what they do, and it’s contagious. The site for the overnight lodging is much better than the pictures show. I can not recommend the overnight option enough! It really ups you experience, and gives you a view into a different side of life in the area. The owner, who lives on the site most of the time, is very interesting and friendly guy with lots of fun stories about the area, and Africa in general.

Very fun. The kids loved it. We had plenty of amazing views.
