Marrakech Museum, Marrakech

Learn about local history and art at Marrakech Museum, a cultural institution as notable for its permanent collection of antiques and artworks as it is for its setting. Founded in 1997, the museum occupies the main building and grounds of the Dar Menebhi Palace, a 19th-century structure. Artistic and architectural flourishes across the museum provide examples of a classical Andalusian style, with fountains and tile work throughout. The museum tells the story of the development of Moroccan art over the centuries, with a particular focus on pottery and embroidery. With our custom trip planner, Marrakech attractions like Marrakech Museum can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • Yes, the info is in French and Arabic, but the building itself is beautiful and well worth the price of admission. Having just traveled trough Morocco for about 16 days, it’s obvious the country is...  more »
  • Came here for a visit even though there are some bad reviews. We were actually very impressed so not sure why the bad reviews. It took us about an hour to go through all the rooms and there was plenty to look at. Beautiful building.
  • The museum itself with its paintings and pictures is a little disappointing, however, the large open square in the middle of it is well worth the entry! Beautiful architecture and a great place to see!
  • Stunning building. Some interesting artwork and historical artefacts. Information is largely in French or Arabic.
  • Great museum which is inside a palace , the main room is impressive and wide. This is in my top3 of Marrakech . Entry ticket is very reasonable.
  • Not so much worth visit for the actual inventory, but for its unique, calm atmosphere and artsy vibes.
