Porto Montenegro, Tivat Municipality

Porto Montenegro is a luxury yacht marina and adjacent waterfront development under construction in Tivat, Montenegro. The construction site was a naval shipyard named Arsenal, which fell into disuse after the breakup of Yugoslavia and the decline of the Yugoslav Navy. The lot on which the shipyard is situated was put on public offering in 2006, and was bought by Canadian businessman Peter Munk. It was acknowledged in 2008 that he was not alone in the venture - while Munk owns 54% of the Porto Montenegro company, the rest is owned by Oleg Deripaska, Nathaniel Rothschild, Jacob Rothschild, Bernard Arnault, Sandor Demijan and Anthony Munk.Munk announced that he intends to build a luxury yacht marina and a waterfront community, which would cater to needs of growing community of superyacht owners. The position of Tivat in the secluded part of the Bay of Kotor, together with the proximity of Tivat Airport, makes it favourable location for a marina. The marina will have berths for 650 yachts, 150 of them super yachts, up to 150m long. These will be part of a full-service community of luxury apartments, shops, restaurants and other sports and entertainment amenities.

  • Cozy town on the coast. Want to come back again to it again. Palms, snow-white yachts, villas and small cosy lodges, gentle sea breeze, what more do you need for a relaxing stay. In small restaurants you can taste dishes of national Montenegrin cuisine and nightclubs "hang out" with friends. Sea air and warm sea-everything that is necessary for the body, and the merry company of friends-this is for the soul. Welcome to Tivat!

  • Tivat-cozy town on the Adriatic Sea. Classic holiday oasis in Montenegro. Spring-uncrowded and quiet, crowded and summer holiday. The magnificent Adriatic coast, a necklace of tiny ancient towns, Boho-Kotor Bay.

  • Absolutely amazing place. I found it way better than Monaco. Everything is completely new and beautiful. The yachts are amazing and the restaurants are awesome. The difference to Monaco is only that it has more space and is MUCH CHEAPER!
  • Very nice port with some nice views for taking photos, and coffee bars and restaurants along it with variois prices. Many nice restaurants on yachts are available in the evenings as well. There are several hotels within the area as well. It is worth visiting both during day and night when an “Eiffel tower ” like lifting thing can be seen changing colours. Also at night often there are music events on the old port near.
  • Love this place for people watching. More reasonable than you would expect. Great range of restaurants, ice cream parlour and upmarket shopping.
  • Tivat port is one of the most luxurious places at the Mediterranean. Amazing amount of super yachts, even more then in place like Nice and Monte Carlo.
  • Biggest and largest marina in Montenegro. Perfect place for all those who intend to come to Montenegro with their vessels. Night clubs, restaurants, hotels. Everything is perfect.
