Piazza of the arms, Kotor

Architectural Building
Take a bit of a respite with coffee or ice cream at one of the many cafes on . If you enter through the Sea Gate on the west side of town, you'll pass a couple of cannons named after the nearby Venetian arsenal. The square also features a hotel that once served as a theater, the town hall, the Rector's Palace, and a 17th-century clock tower. Notice how the clock tower leans slightly, due to an earthquake. Pay attention to a small pyramid at its base, called the pyramid of shame--in the Middle Ages, this was the site of punishments and torture. • A lovely area to meet and take in some of the culture. Also good place to stop and have a break (if you can find a seat) it does get busy. Found it good early in the day. Admire the architecture and p...  more »
  • It's like stepping into a fairy tale, through the door and find yourself in the middle ages. The Plaza is the largest of the twelve squares in the city centre. Full of historical buildings, churches, cafes and coffee. Hard not to be fascinated by much candour walking to and fro to small streets

  • You can walk along these streets like stepping back into the ancient and one feels transported back in the history of the city. Simple, attractive.
