Piazza of the arms, Kotor
(4.4/5 based on 120+ reviews on the web)
Take a bit of a respite with coffee or ice cream at one of the many cafes on . If you enter through the Sea Gate on the west side of town, you'll pass a couple of cannons named after the nearby Venetian arsenal. The square also features a hotel that once served as a theater, the town hall, the Rector's Palace, and a 17th-century clock tower. Notice how the clock tower leans slightly, due to an earthquake. Pay attention to a small pyramid at its base, called the pyramid of shame--in the Middle Ages, this was the site of punishments and torture. • In Kotor there is great respect for gatti, who despite being stray they all enjoy excellent health. In this square as well as around the Center is not hard to bump into anyone of them intent on sleeping on a corner maybe getting a Tan. In Kotor, the rule is that if you want to take the coffee sitting at the table, if a cat plays a do not disturb him.
