Together with the Old Town and its natural surroundings, the fortifications are listed as a World Heritage Site. The Illyrians, Byzantines, Venetians, and Austrians built the fortress between the ninth and 19th centuries. Take the main entrance near the River Gate and ask for a descriptive brochure identifying various towers, citadels, gates, bastions, forts, cisterns, and churches along the way. • I don't really know of much to do in this city other than shop or climb the steps to the castle. It's a gorgeous view from the top but can get pretty crowded.
  • Very beautiful site seeing spot. Great for photography. There is an entrance fee. Be prepared for a long walk uphill. Not recommended for elderly people, disabled or people with heart issues. The view of the castle/mountain at night is beautiful
  • Relatively easy hike with fantastic views of kotor
  • Absolutely a must see for anyone visiting. It gives the overview of Motor Bay
