Climb to the top of , which offers bird's-eye views of the fjord and the Old Town from the height of 1,200 m (3937 ft). Together with the Old Town and its natural surroundings, the fortifications are listed as a World Heritage Site. The Illyrians, Byzantines, Venetians, and Austrians built the fortress between the ninth and 19th centuries. Take the main entrance near the River Gate and ask for a descriptive brochure identifying various towers, citadels, gates, bastions, forts, cisterns, and churches along the way. Rest on a stone seat in front of the Church of Our Lady of Remedy. Walk carefully, as the stairs are unstable in places, and be sure to take a bottle of water with you. • My goal was to make it to the Church of Good Health, anything higher seemed daunting. But I made it all the way up- I'm 64 and don't consider myself terribly fit but it can be done and the views are a...  more »
  • I can't say that it's going to be a cakewalk, but you won't regret it. The rise started from the old town, paying three euros for the admission. Somewhere on the third way thought well of him, but continued to rise. Fatigue mechanism, incredible views. Only took about 40 minutes. In some areas, be careful: the stones are slippery, and stay not for that. However, this does not mean that you have to risk the health of manifesting miracles balancing act. With the rise of cope even children. Just extra careful even hurt no one. The main award-great views of the Bay of Kotor and awaits you at the top. If you climb in summer heat take water at the rate of 1.5 litres per person (not invented by me, heeded the Council experienced hikers, it turned out the way it is).

  • Since I came saw climb to the top of the fortress. Ducduc is frankly pedestrian, sweat, finally came to the Summit. As a result and enjoyed the scenery.

  • Be prepared to walk uphill , a lot. This is not a trek if you're not fit for it. We made it halfway and turned around when reached the chapel. The kids did not want to continue.
  • Pretty nice view, however there were a lot of stairs and my legs got really sore. I ran out of water and my throat got really dry. I had to wash my shirt because it smelt bad from sweat. The walls at the top were not complete and I could not imagine if it was ever a real castle.
  • The view is splendid. Your cardio will be tested. Watch your steps.
  • About 35-60min walk to the castle which can be challenging in hot weather but well worth it. The views of Kotor bay are amazing, especially recommended for the sunset over the bay.
  • I don't really know of much to do in this city other than shop or climb the steps to the castle. It's a gorgeous view from the top but can get pretty crowded.
