Altstadt (Old Town) Budva, Budva

4.3
See the former city fortress, Altstadt (Old Town) Budva, a fully functional complex of antique structures filled with quaint restaurants, historical sites, and homes. As you approach the site from Budva's vibrant promenade, you'll observe its rugged walls, which preserve remnants of numerous cultures, spanning the 6th century BCE to the present day. Tour the narrow Venetian streets, see Roman baths, and visit museums that preserve ancient treasures, medical instruments, and miniature multicolored glass vessels where sailors kept their loved ones' tears, according to tradition. • Almost no tourists, locals, empty streets, empty shops. Those who crawl from the middle ages will be pleasantly surprised) is where pofotkatsja, nobody bothers, no heat. I advise everyone to visit this place in March-April, especially into the Citadel.

  • There are so many old towns along the Dalmatian cost, this one is I think mid size and well kept, hence its worth a visit. It is also easy available in the end of the beach promenade and close to the ...  more »
  • The territory is small, but fascinating narrow streets, while restaurants flavors beckon. But in the maze of streets is another beauty, hidden from many. If you turn the Museum left and then, if you're lucky and the gate will be opened, closing the lane with entrances in private houses, at the end of the alley, be they Eastern Gate, the gate to the sea. Be careful not to fall, especially with children, as if the gates are open, the space you will be separated only by rail at a height of about 1 meter. In opening the gate can stand freely 2 person.

  • Very beautiful old town directly on the sea and inside a fort. The walls of the fort allow for a beautiful view over the Mediterranean Sea and also over the old town itself. On the inside, the small, winding passages set the air for a lovely walk. And if you get hungry or thirsty, there are lots of cute, little cafes and restaurants. There are also a couple of museums if you would like a taste of the history of Budva.
  • One of the most well maintained walled old town castle in Mentenegro. Lively crowded tourist attraction, with many shops, bars, cafe and restaurants. Nice entertainment options until late at night. The visitor may walk around the walls of the castle, city view is beautiful. The beach is nice but crowded enough.
  • Very interesting small walled city. Worth a detour. On site information is rather limited.
  • Lovely old town best visited either side of the high season as it gets crowded
