4.3/5 based on 1,000+ reviews on the web
See the former city fortress, Altstadt (Old Town) Budva, a fully functional complex of antique structures filled with quaint restaurants, historical sites, and homes. As you approach the site from Budva's vibrant promenade, you'll observe its rugged walls, which preserve remnants of numerous cultures, spanning the 6th century BCE to the present day. Tour the narrow Venetian streets, see Roman baths, and visit museums that preserve ancient treasures, medical instruments, and miniature multicolored glass vessels where sailors kept their loved ones' tears, according to tradition. You can also try local dishes at some of the restaurants at the site. For Altstadt (Old Town) Budva and beyond, use our Budva family vacation planner to get the most from your Budva vacation.

  • Old fortress, surrounded by a wall with three entrances. Inside houses in narrow streets (where now there are shops and cafes) and cult objects in the squares. If you were in Venice or any European historic city, the new will not see. All you can get around for half an hour. There is a beach, a small and very pebbly. If you go along the coast to the scenic trail, you can go to the beach Late-it's a small pebble, consists of two parts, which connects the pass through the cave. There are no wind On the walls of the old city tours not, but on the Internet you can find explanations how to get there

  • Beautiful city with tangible historic value. Amazing views of the blue sea, stone castles walls, incredible beaches. If you looking at buying items here I think it would be wiser to do it elsewhere. Prices within the old town are artificially inflated with a "tourist tax".
  • Small place but really beautiful. Amazing views over the beach and sea.
  • It was pretty cool place before, now is destroyed with ugly buildings and concrete everywhere.
  • Very romantic place, close to the center of Budva. You will find plenty of shops, restaurants and pubs, highly recommend to anyone.
  • Beautiful old town, although a lot has been rebuilt after earthquakes. Unfortunately it's very commercialized and super loud especially in the high season.
