(4/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Shop in a landmark building at The State Department Store, a modern shopping center that's the largest and reportedly most luxurious store in Mongolia. Established in 1921 as the Central Store in the country, the store today features a variety of international brands and local products such as cashmere and camel leather. You'll also find a number of services like goldsmiths, seamstresses, beauty parlors, laundries, and dry cleaning. There is a diverse and affordable food court, plus a supermarket on the ground floor; find souvenir shops on the 5th floor. • NIce westerner friendly shopping centre with pretty much everything you need. Very busy and clearly a fav with the locals but easy to lose a few hours exploring the centre. Good reasonably priced food...  more »
  • You will not leave this store empty handed. 6 floors of all types of goods, local and foreign brands.
  • When I went for the first time and the second time when I went. You can buy food from outdoor products, books to most things were. You can also eat because the food court is located on the upper floor. Even better because parking spaces are not enough but if you go by car, taxi or perhaps.

  • A good place for tourists to start their shopping. It has almost everything you need to get started. Top floor is where you will find the cellular service providers for your local sim card. Bottom floor has the grocery store. In between is mostly clothes etc. Good place overall!
  • You get what you need here. Especially in winter, grab a hat, scarf and gloves for the negative twenty degrees centigrade in December. It is not cheap though as the SDS, that's what the locals call it, is the symbol of Western shopping in UB.
  • Not air conditioned so it's super hot during summer. There are many branded stores and sometimes they have decent sales. For foreigners looking to buy mongolian cashmere and wool products, this is the place to go to as it's located in the city center and they have a bunch of different cashmere brands at one location.
  • Here you can find almost everything you need. Maybe the most complete mall in Ulan-Bator.
  • Good selection of local merchandise great for gifts to take home as souvenirs. Good selection of cashmere products and all the normal department store goods.
