  • Great selection of handmade items including socks, handbags, scarves, sweaters, pillow covers, and lots of other things. Staff members are very helpful and speak excellent English. Their hours are 10:30-6, at least in the winter.
  • People who works here, they're really nice. And the it's totally handcraft!
  • This is the best place in Ulaanbaatar to shop for truly handmade, high quality products made by Mongolian craftsmen from all over Mongolia. The owners are members of the World Fair Trade Organization ensuring every artisan earns a fair wage. From small felt animals you could pin on your shirt to amazing Kazakh embroidered wall hangings--it's like going to a museum. Whenever I visit Ulaanbaatar I stop by the shop right near the State Department Store My friends love the Kazakh-embroidered handbags in all shapes and sizes and the cozy felt slippers for young and old alike that I bring back to America. The staff are friendly and helpful. What's more, the profits benefit local charities. I discovered this shop in 2008 when I first came to Mongolia and I continue to admire its owners and the good work they do-- and they did NOT pay me to say any of this!
  • Essentially what Judy said. Fair trade, surprisingly large area, prices are good as is the quality. Peruse the mass produced stuff on the sixth floor of the State Dept Store, but don't buy until you check out Mary & Martha.
