Specialty Museum
Take a close look at the 3 m (10 ft) tall skeleton of Tyrannosaurus Rex’s Mongolian cousin, Tarbosaurus bataar at Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs. This small museum features 16 skeletal remains of dinosaurs excavated in the territory of modern-day Mongolia. Observe life-sized models of various dinosaurs and learn about their life at lectures. Other exhibits feature various raptors and a nest of oviraptor eggs. The prime exhibit was taken from the country's vast fossil and skeletal heritage and returned to the country after a legal battle in the U.S. A visit to Central Museum of Mongolian Dinosaurs represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Ulaanbaatar tourist route planner to plot your vacation.

  • It is a very small museum, but nicely set up. Low cost. I paid 3000MNT when I went with an additional 5000MNT to take photos. How long you take depends on how much you like to read, but max 1 hour. No...  more »
  • The Museum consists of one room only and is therefore small, for this entry is very cheap (just a few euros). The Austellungsstücke were mostly found in the Gobi desert and include a full tone Halloween of a carnivorous dinosaur, as well as many smaller exhibits. I would say the Museum is worth when you have some time to kill. We were however only approx. 1 hour there. If you have not much time available must but not necessarily set list the Museum in my opinion on his "must see".

  • This museum many halls and expositions. Here posted information about the animal and plant world of the country, as well as all the information on the inanimate world. Very informative sections on natural resources and climatic features of different landscape and geography of the aimag. There are Taiga and permafrost, steppes and deserts, rivers and lakes. That is, the accumulated knowledge about this wonderful land, inhabitants and natural riches. And most importantly-on the largest of the local inhabitants of the edges, and the entire planet-dinosaurs! Skeletons confirm the truth of knowledge about the nature of our planet, the ancient history of the development of the animal world. Located next to the ispolinom-start feel as still skorotechna life and how great the story development and evidence of our planet. How many millions of years have passed since these giants lived, and how still are skeletons of dinosaurs, to bring us this information about those distant times, when they went here and were "masters" of this land!? We are witnesses of that time, millions of years passed between them! This is a must see and touch to this miracle!

  • Very small but if you need to kill 30 mins and want to learn something about dinosaur bones, this place has you covered. The displays have English and are well done. It is just very small so be prepared.
  • Cool museum, albeit small. The guy at the front first said 2000 tögrög (even the ticket says 2000) but refused to let me in unless I paid 3000. I paid the extra 1000 tögrög finally just to get the guy to quit hassling me.
  • Good but too small. Best thing is the Tabrosaur skeleton.
  • The smallest muzeum I have ever been to, nonetheless probably the best dinosaurs one. Spent like 30 min there
  • Very nice place, you can see dinosaur skeletons , fossils and also dinosaurs eggs, however it is quite small.
