Jardin des animalier, Monte-Carlo

2.9
#6 of 6 in Parks in Monaco
Although small, Jardin des animalier carries a wide array of exotic animals from around the globe. Founded by Prince Rainier III in 1954, the zoo houses more than 50 species and over 250 individual animals. An good place to bring the kids, the zoo features reptiles, apes, monkeys, and exotic birds. Of particular interest are the hippopotamus, the black panther (one of Africa's deadliest animals), and the white tiger, a rare variation of the classic orange Bengal tiger. When you visit the zoo, take the time to feed the kangaroos for a small additional charge. To plan Monte-Carlo vacation without wasting time, ask Inspirock to design an itinerary.

  • Little nice Park for a small family outing. We have a good time. I advice you go to conclude your day in the Principality.

  • We went for the small and, reading the reviews, no great expectations but actually for the child was also fun because you can feed the goats and ducks that he loves. Beautiful location, overlooking the Harbour, and although there are many small animals. Easy to get to if you park at Carrefour, with an elevator was right there. I do not give 5 points because I agree that the cages are small, especially for birds.

  • a great Park not expensive 5 euros adults 2.5 child and free under 8 years old I'm not at all agree with the negative comments, the Park is very well maintained and the animals have enough space. There are even some animals in freedom and gave little rations to some animals and if the jars are empty it means that the animals have had their ration for the day. In addition there are wonderful views, games for the kids also. This isn't a huge park but value for money worth a visit

  • Nice animal garden. Many renovations were taking place, but still many animals to see. Great place to go with kids, as chicken and other animals run freely in the park, making for a lot of emotional screams:-)
  • Caged animals and poorly kept zoo. Very depressing .
  • What a depressing place. So many cramped cages, and tired looking animals. This has put me, my wife, and our young son off zoos for life.
  • Lovely small zoo in Monaco
  • Very nice place. Worth visit. Lot of different animals and you can feed then with clean popcorn they sell at the entrance :)

Where to stay in Monte-Carlo

Monte Carlo is known as one of Europe's most luxurious destinations, and the choice of places to stay largely reflects this reputation, with historical hotels acting as the city's most notable landmarks. Monte Carlo's modest size limits the amount of available lodgings, but it guarantees that wherever you decide to stay, you'll be close to the city's main attractions. For a full VIP experience, book a stay at one of the exclusive hotels. If you're looking for a more cost-effective option, check out accommodations just on the other side of the French border, in what are effectively Monte Carlo's suburbs.
