Japanese Gardens, Monte-Carlo
(4.5/5 based on 900+ reviews on the web)
A calm oasis for the weary traveler, Japanese Gardens offers a space for quiet contemplation surrounded by carefully crafted beauty. Meticulous arrangements of vegetation, stone, and water create a sense of peace in this garden, which was created for Princess Grace. Highlights of the garden include the waterfall, which flows into the carp-filled lake, and the teahouse, an ornamental structure where you can sit quietly. Walk the paths through trees and rocks, wander over the arched, red bridge to a small island, and watch the fish and ducks that swim below you. • I live in Monaco and this is one of my favourite things to do. A stroll through the Japanese Gardens, sitting in one of the gazebos and watching the fish or the tourists :) It is a beautiful place and...  more »
  • The difference is, of course, in the cutting, pruning and growth habit. In addition, there are some nice ornaments and buildings. Half an hour quietly through walking and you can continue with your day.

  • Great relaxing walk thru manicured gardens, coy fish and a view of the Mediterranean. A pause in the busy day of riding all over the principality.

  • A beautiful garden, though too small. A good place to read a book, relax, meditate. Though I had hoped for a bigger garden and with a open tea house to try a real Japanese tea ceremony.
  • Definitely a place to visit in Monaco for its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It's quite small but it's still one of the best parks in Monaco.
  • Well kept garden. Nice place to relax. But beware! Don't step on the grass or you'll be told off by the guards!
  • Nothing very interesting here, just a gorgeous, relaxed and green place in the middle of the Monte Carlo's daily agitation.
  • Beautiful and exotic garden in Monaco. Finally a place with shade and calmness in a busy city. Definitely worth seeing, a great place to sit and relax. Plenty of large colored fish in the pond.
