Japanese Gardens, Monte-Carlo

(4.5/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
A calm oasis for the weary traveler, Japanese Gardens offers a space for quiet contemplation surrounded by carefully crafted beauty. Meticulous arrangements of vegetation, stone, and water create a sense of peace in this garden, which was created for Princess Grace. Highlights of the garden include the waterfall, which flows into the carp-filled lake, and the teahouse, an ornamental structure where you can sit quietly. Walk the paths through trees and rocks, wander over the arched, red bridge to a small island, and watch the fish and ducks that swim below you. • Although the gardens are very pretty and tranquil you probably only need 30 minutes at the most. It is on the coast line so would be good as a shady place in the height of the season  more »
  • Very nice walk through the gardens that is identical to what is found in the Japan (already visited so we could compare) framework inviting to relaxation, to relax

  • A beautiful garden, though too small. A good place to read a book, relax, meditate. Though I had hoped for a bigger garden and with a open tea house to try a real Japanese tea ceremony.
  • Definitely a place to visit in Monaco for its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It's quite small but it's still one of the best parks in Monaco.
  • Well kept garden. Nice place to relax. But beware! Don't step on the grass or you'll be told off by the guards!
  • Nothing very interesting here, just a gorgeous, relaxed and green place in the middle of the Monte Carlo's daily agitation.
  • Beautiful and exotic garden in Monaco. Finally a place with shade and calmness in a busy city. Definitely worth seeing, a great place to sit and relax. Plenty of large colored fish in the pond.
