Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Monaco-Ville
(4.3/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
A Roman Catholic cathedral and burial place of the country's royalty, Saint Nicholas Cathedral exudes a sense of hushed solemnity amidst shining marble floors and delicate frescoes. Constructed on the site of Monaco's first parish church, which was built in 1252, the cathedral was consecrated in 1875. An ornate and light-filled building, this cathedral was the site of both the wedding and the burial of the celebrated Grace Kelly, who married Prince Rainier III here in 1956. Take some time to walk around the cathedral and visit the chapels of the relics of St. Devote and St. Roman and the chapel of the Holy Sacrament. • Come to Monaco and not go to this Cathedral, is like going to Rome and not go to the Vatican. Be sure to visit this beautiful city and it's lovely Cathedral where Princess married.
