Prince's Palace (Palais du Prince), Monaco-Ville
(4.2/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web)
Take an audio tour of Prince's Palace (Palais du Prince), occupied for more than 700 years by the ruling Grimaldi family. Built on the site of an 1191 Genoese fortress, the palace is still well fortified--it was frequently besieged over the centuries by Monaco’s larger and more powerful neighbors. Imposing from the outside, the royal family's only residence also displays wealth and opulence in its interior, furnished in the style of Louis XIV. Explore the state apartments, where you can see intricately painted 16th-century frescoes of mythological figures, and see the throne, draped with a red velvet awning and topped by the crown. The palace is only open to the public for a few months a year, so check the website for details. • He Palace Royal is built on what was originally a fortress raised by the Genoese in the century XIII. As the country does not have much space on land, the Princes of Monaco, have had to settle for a single Royal Palace; so if you visit it will realize the compiled with different tastes made by each of its occupants. As in almost all the Royal palaces in Europe it is worth to see the changes of the guard; Monaco is every day at 11:55 am. There are some days to the year in which the Royal Palace will be closed for any activity that occurs in the Principality: as the F1 Grand Prix; so they go to Monaco, check if during your stay you will be closed for any reason. Tickets sold them at a tourist stand in front of the Palace; I say this because I noticed that many people towards the tail (row) to enter and when they arrived at the entrance to learned there not selling tickets to the Royal Palace. Adults pay € 8, children from 8 to 14 years old and students pay € 4. You can combine the purchase of tickets for the Royal Palace, the Oceanographic Museum for the collection of cars from the Prince and save one euros; so check to see if it suits them to do so. (I do not I found out about that when I was in Monaco) Inside the Palace real not is allow photos, so is the must. With tickets are included around radios-guias, where to hear in detail everything related to the Palace as: the Salon Louis XV in yellow and gold; the Salon Mazarin, the Salle du Trône decorated with an impressive Renaissance style fireplace; the Chapelle Paltine built in the 17TH century and the double turn of the 17TH century carrare marble staircase. Actually I recommend it ;-)

  • Interesting walk through the Palace Square and observe the change of guard. The small village that lies in front of the Palace is a good place for lunch and buy a souvenir.

  • Palace headquarters of the Princes. I recommend renting the audio guide where to tell you the history of the Palace and its inhabitants. The tour lasts no more than one hour. It is not much what you show but it is worthwhile to explore it. Charge entry but it is cheap.

  • Neat palace. In my opinion is the view over the city more impressing however.
  • While visiting the aquarium they asked us if we wanted to visit it just adding 50 cents more. We accepted and the visit in this palace was great. A lot of things to see and the audio guide explain a lot of information. If you are lucky you can also see the change of the guard which is beatiful to see.
  • Very nice tour of the castle but rather short. I understand that it is an active residence, but from the outside I have to admit that I would have expected the tour to last longer. Other than that, the explanation headset is very good, giving loads of information. The only downside is that you can't take any pictures while inside the palace.
  • FANTASTIC!Tre Tre Tre Bon!!!PERFECT⭐️ However, the country is noisy fuel-poor cars and full of bikes. If high interest imperial family in environmental issues, as well as we need even if a lot of money for the imperial family maintenance, may be set to electric cars and electric bikes can not run only country. The city is wonderful beautiful scenery, but Values are old, stress full disappointed country.
  • One of the most beautiful views I've ever gotten was on top of this hill.
