Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique), La Condamine
(4.5/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Tour the terraced Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique) atop the town's steep hill on a clear day to see a large collection of succulents and cacti. With extensive views over Monaco that can be seen from many vantage points, the garden offers more than botanical attractions. Broken up into smaller gardens, each terrace contains plantings that group similar plants together. Key attractions include the giant flowering succulents--spectacular even when not in flower--a shady area with a pond and waterfall, and the underground "cathedral"--a large, underground cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. When you visit the garden, wear comfortable shoes, as there are many steep steps. A visit to Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique) represents just the start of the adventure when you use our La Condamine holiday planner to plot your vacation.

  • It's worth lingering an hour or two to the exotic garden of Monaco. Accessible from the station in public elevator, then in feet, it deserves a little. But the collection of succulents and cacti is really surprising, and so good value. If you can, feel free to do the tour of the caves (included in the price). It's impressive, and some sports: 300 steps down, then 250 steps up. Dwell finally in front of the beautiful view of the Principality and the rock.

  • Exotic garden. When I learned that most plants consist of a kind of Cactus, I thought for a moment it is rather dull. Hmmm, cacti. That such a nice ... It turns out that I was such an ignoramus! This is a beautiful garden with many plants from tropical countries of South America and Africa. Opens here, breathtaking views of the Principality of Monaco, as the garden is located high above sea level. There are ponds with plenty of fish waiting for feeding from the visitors. There is a grotto, but whether it was closed in December, I didn't find it by visiting the garden. I advise you to have comfortable shoes, because the terrain is sloping in the garden. Entrance adult 7.2 euros. Discounts for children and students. The easiest way to get here by bus. You can use lifts and own feet, but it is for sports lovers.

  • Nice garden with lots of cactus on top of a hill. Because it is a steep place you will have to climb. There are interesting caves and a small museum, but were closed when we visited. There are wonderful views of Monaco.
  • Very nice garden. Too hot the day we visited and the garden format required us to walk the entire garden which was too long.
  • You must visit the cave, this is a very interesting experience. Don't expect much in terms of service, energy from the staff or a decent cafe, I would love to say there was a fantastic spot to have a fantastic coffee and admire the view. But I can't. There isn't. However the view really is spectacular - much like the views above Dubrovnik.
  • Nice garden, great views and the tour through the cave was great too!
  • Absolutely stunning views of Monaco, the cacti garden is magnificent. Must do!!!
