Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique), La Condamine

Categories: Caves, Gardens, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web
Tour the terraced Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique) atop the town's steep hill on a clear day to see a large collection of succulents and cacti. With extensive views over Monaco that can be seen from many vantage points, the garden offers more than botanical attractions. Broken up into smaller gardens, each terrace contains plantings that group similar plants together. Key attractions include the giant flowering succulents--spectacular even when not in flower--a shady area with a pond and waterfall, and the underground "cathedral"--a large, underground cave filled with stalactites and stalagmites. When you visit the garden, wear comfortable shoes, as there are many steep steps. A visit to Exotic Garden (Jardin Exotique) represents just the start of the adventure when you use our La Condamine holiday planner to plot your vacation.

  • We loved walking in this steep garden, very well maintained, very dense vegetation. It was beautiful! And the view on the rock is great. Too many buildings in sight, however. It's a shame such a concentration on short surface. We did not cave: physical impossibility of up and down 300 steps. Personnel (home garden and cave): pretty bad, they forgot to be friendly.

  • This panoramic views worth alone for the photos. The terrace with a view is to visit even without entrance fee to the Park.

  • Interessting to see a small japonese garten by the mediterranean ocean. Quiet, relaxing, well taken care and lots of differente types of Koy fishes.
  • You must visit the cave, this is a very interesting experience. Don't expect much in terms of service, energy from the staff or a decent cafe, I would love to say there was a fantastic spot to have a fantastic coffee and admire the view. But I can't. There isn't. However the view really is spectacular - much like the views above Dubrovnik.
  • I've never seen so many cactus plants in one place! The views of the city below are simply stunning. Beware that it can get quite hot though, and that entrance fees aren't cheap.
  • Pricey but worth the money cuz the panorama is stunning.
  • Great variety of flowers, and definitely worth a stop
  • If you are interested in a nice view over the city and don't necessarily want to enter the botanic garden, there's a veranda near the garden café from where you can take nice photos.
