It's time to demolish Lenin

The building, built in the mid-1980s, is a typical rudiment of the Soviet era, interesting not by architecture, but by the very fact of its appearance. At that time, Tiraspol was just a city of republican subordination, which did not imply large state institutions, and the building was built, as they say, for growth, and did not fail. Most likely, this giant came from the late Soviet projections, suggesting the merger of Tiraspol and Bender into a single metropolis of Suvorovgrad, followed by the transfer of the Moldavian capital to it. The monument to Lenin (1987) standing in front of the building is also legendary in its own way. Its author is the Soviet sculptor N.V. Tomsky, whom by the time the monument was erected had been dead for several years. The fact is that Tomsky’s student built in Tiraspol an old project of his teacher, implemented in 1970 in Berlin - a figure of Lenin carved from red stone against a background of a fluttering banner. Here, the authors did not fail either: a few years later, the Berlin monument was demolished, and its Tiraspol version remained and is now a favorite place for photographing

Beautiful monumental building, located near the central square of the city. In front of the building there is a monument to Lenin.
