#3 of 7 in Museums in Chisinau
The house where Alexander Pushkin spent three years in exile from Russia, Pushkin Museum offers a glimpse into the life of this literary giant. Born into Russian nobility and exiled for his political beliefs, Pushkin wrote his famous poem "The Prisoner of the Caucasus" in this house. Containing writings and drawings by the great poet, the museum spreads across the original cottage and a nearby house. Exhibits include books and paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries, a sculpted bust of Pushkin, and period furnishings. Make sure you have good directions, as the museum is tucked away and can be hard to find. Guides will give you a tour in English or Russian. • Though a poet and scolded Chisinau, nevertheless, he loved it. House Museum of Pushkin is a rare place where you can feel-looked like a city and living in the first half of the 19th century. Everything is authentic. From childhood remember fabric shoe covers-you had to wear when entering!) Mini Museum-but there are interesting household items, etc.-ticket very cheap. I can't say that it is obligatory to visit, but since it is in the Center and surrounding cities contrasted with-will not regret!

  • Perhaps the most place in Chisinau with the charm of historical authenticity. A quiet, cozy place. Yard, fenced-off stone fence, small house, shady trees. And the main thing-here really lived Pushkin! A small stretch of cobblestones and lined with red brick pavement-walked on it Alexander Sergeyevich! Standing here, you can imagine old Chisinau, from which, unfortunately, almost nothing is left. And this corner was steadily crumbling. Local authorities don't care about the real beauty of the old town. Close to this priceless museum builds a huge residential complex. Business and nothing sacred! Sad ... Hurry up to see Pushkin House, yet not grown in this place next newbuilding.

  • The stay of a. S. Pushkin in Chisinau is a pride for the inhabitants of this city. House-Museum which inhabited the great Russian poet is a great attraction for anyone interested in his journey through these lands. The guided tour is very complete and offers visitors a detailed vision of the stay of Pushkin in the 19th century, quite different to the now Chisinau. Here was the poet of Petersburgo began to write Evgeni Onegin, so there is a stay dedicated to this work.

  • Great - but only if you bring your imagination with you. There's not much here in English, so you might want to find a good translator; the woman who was working here when I paid a visit spoke Russian and German pretty well, but no English. And the location itself is hard to find, the house being tucked away among some blocks of flats. By Chisinau standards it's still well worth a visit.
  • It has very rich collection. You can learn a lot about A. Puškin. In every room there is also description of room in english. But still i've missed english names and description of each exponant. The price is very low.
  • Sacred place if you ever read Eugene Onegin. Puskin started to write it here. He lived here in exile 1821- 1823.
  • A wonderful place where you can touch history
