  • We go to Zaachila to a family event (wedding) very pleased with the attentions received and amazed by their traditions; a band came the bride and led her to walk to the Church with his entourage. leaving mass again we were accompanying husbands to the site of the fiesta with music, batons and live for the bride and groom, they call him CALENDA. served the breakfast that consisted in chocolate in water and bread delicious, subsequently served the lunch (chicken in marinade) and to them 15 hrs served it food (barbecue baked, beans black flavoured with sheet of avocado and sauce, all accompanied with some large tortillas) I called much the attention that a form of thank to them Godfathers is that the boyfriend enters loading a great basket where carries food , mezcal, chocolate, bread and tortillas and is them offers to each one of their godparents in a typical dance regional "the dance of Turkey" where dance the Godfather loading a vase with mole and the bride load to the Turkey that you have gifted and dance to the compass of the music in end if have the opportunity of visit Zaachila not is lost all their traditions that to the date is carry to out ""

  • Two must-see tombs during the visit to Oaxaca. The explanation of Mr. Fabian (craftsman and worker of the INAH) is very comprehensive. Bring camera. Photos of the Museum site though small are very valuable and collection of several sites that allow to understand the magnificence of the two tombs. In the highest part of the site there is a rock in the shape of Bowl carved in the bedrock, which seems the Yagul or the Mitla. They could have been used to grind and Cook (like the stock of stone) or for children bathroom. Lack of support from local authorities and broadcasting. And support from INAH to explore the North mound.

  • The archaeological site of Zaachila (Teozapotlan in Nahuatl) is a sample of the legacy of our ancestors Zapotec which, in conjunction with the Mixtecos, became part of the two more great cultures of the South of what is now Mexico. In them it is possible to appreciate a couple of tombs with beautiful architectural ornaments and several mounds with flora of the Valley of Oaxaca. I recommend you to visit the site Thursday it is day of seat. A tour of the market and the Church will complement your visit to the ancient Kingdom of Cosijoeza.

  • An area too small, unfortunately are not there parts that were in the graves, but if it is possible to go down to the two tombs, they are very small but very interesting.

  • Vestiges of the great Zapotec culture, which to date is preserved thanks to the authorities and the community consciousness
