  • On our quest to check out some cenotes during our short time in Merida, all the research pointed us to the Cuzamas cenotes. Our driver said those were fine but there were usually a lot of tourists and...  more »
  • When I arrived at Homún on the recommendation of a friend, I came across a small village to a certain extent without charm. However, when I started to walk its streets before hiring a bike taxi I understood the meaning of the journey. Don't expect a magical town, but believe me that the incredible is in its surroundings and its cenotes. The quantity, quality and difference of each one of the cenotes, caves and farms, make it unique, if you like adventure and how different must know him, in addition is very close to Mérida (approximately 1.15 hrs in collective).

  • If visit cenotes is, Homun is an ideal destination, since the town concentrated a large number of cenotes is a place that you can not pass. It is important to mention that it can be reached by transport connections from the center of the city of Merida. Local people in Homun offers "mototaxis" tours to visit the cenotes, however it is NOT necessary to take them to visit them all. The village is signposted so it facilitates the task of getting. Each cenote is an approximate $25 pesos. This is an important aspect to keep in mind since it will determine the budget and the number of cenotes to be visited. I reiterate that it is not necessary to purchase tours of local people, since in many cases the prices are high and they do not include the cost of individual tickets to cenotes.
