  • On our way from Uxmal to Merida we stopped at this hacienda which was recommended by the travel guide book. Very interesting after having read the story and we could feel the history.  more »

  • Visited with the guide Don Guadalupe Tun, the stories and explanations he gives you will help you to understand the value of the place. His family worked there since the beginning.
  • Very beautiful. There are gardens, old factories, Mayan artifacts, and a giant old house you can go through. The gardens are beautiful.
  • This Hacienda was establish in the 19th century and was used to grow and process henequen, know also as Sisal. I was used to make ropes before nylon came along and was a large and important industry in Mexico at the time. The place is a strange combination of wealthy living and an industrial complex. It is a photographer's dream with so many colours and shapes. Give yourself lots of time. The staff there were great. We drove, but you probably easily get a bus from Merida.
  • Nice hacienda that reflects on past glory days in Yucatan
  • Beautiful and not crowded
