Las Pozas de Edward James, Xilitla

#1 of 17 in Parks in San Luis Potosi
Garden Nature / Park
Feel as though you are stepping into a fantasy world at Las Pozas de Edward James, located deep in the Huastecan jungle. As one of the most impressive Surrealist art displays in the world, the area blends whimsical architecture made of concrete with natural elements like waterfalls and ponds. The lush area was the vision of creator Sir Edward James. Four-story-high sculptures tower overhead as you wind down steps, ramps, and bridges. Take your swimwear if you like; you can escape the humidity and cool off in one of the refreshing pools. • The place got me by surprise by being more touristy than I expected. But ones I started walking in this mind blowing maze of structures, I was taken by the place. It is really a great place to visit.  more »
  • I went with friends to visit this surrealistic garden. It is worth it. We went during spring break and yes.... there were a lot of people. We waited for 2h30 to be able to enter. It was totally croude...  more »
  • The Garden of Edward James is quite similar, but not the same, to Park Guell in Barcelona, both of them are unique and have a lot of things to be appreciated by tourists. This garden, also known as la...  more »

  • Awesome place. Try to avoid high season and get early, otherwise you may spend 3 or 4 hours in line waiting to get in. They allow a max of 800 people inside the garden, so you got to wait for people to exit to be able to enter. Don't forget your bathing suit!!! Not a good place for toddlers or disabled people.
  • Definitely worth a visit. The tamales I ate just up the dirt road was very tasty. Cooked in the ground for around eleven hours. It was the biggest tamales i have ever seen, and my favourite dish in Mexico.
  • Awesome place to get lost in the jungle with mini fantastic pieces of Art
