Las Pozas de Edward James, Xilitla

(4.7/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Feel as though you are stepping into a fantasy world at Las Pozas de Edward James, located deep in the Huastecan jungle. As one of the most impressive Surrealist art displays in the world, the area blends whimsical architecture made of concrete with natural elements like waterfalls and ponds. The lush area was the vision of creator Sir Edward James. Four-story-high sculptures tower overhead as you wind down steps, ramps, and bridges. Take your swimwear if you like; you can escape the humidity and cool off in one of the refreshing pools. • Before you die you have to see. It is a hidden garden in the jungle, built like a maze. It's beautiful to take pictures and you can also swim in the turquoise waterfalls. It is easily accessible, has a symbolic cost only and is truly astounding. Wearing comfortable clothing to explore and warm climate.

  • Is very nice place to take photos and upload many stairs do not feel that the pools are to get to swim... in general I think is the place to see and hear its history

  • Despite photos of the place and find out, upon arrival we were speechless where to turn is beautiful, I do not think that there is a similar place, you feel a vibrating different... is mystical. The only but is the road to Xilitla, is very small and dangerous, we had bad weather and we peeled it :/

  • This place is definitely one of the most amazing and mystic places I've ever been. This place is worth visiting if you are in Mexico. The whole place is surrounded by intense jungle, it rains a lot and humidity is high. Try and swim in one the Pozas and you will feel you're in a movie.
  • I will return to this place, its beautiful. Its fun and very clean. It seems magical at times.
  • Bonito lugar, increíble arquitectura😉
  • Definitely worth a visit. The tamales I ate just up the dirt road was very tasty. Cooked in the ground for around eleven hours. It was the biggest tamales i have ever seen, and my favourite dish in Mwxico
  • One of the most fascinating places I've ever been. There is so much to explore and see here. If you are in or near Xilitla, don't miss this place!
