Convent de San Bernardino de Siena, Valladolid

(4.3/5 based on 400+ reviews on the web)
Convent de San Bernardino de Siena stands as Xochimilco's cultural and historic center. An old parish church built in the 16th century over a pre-Hispanic temple, the convent features a simple beige stone wall façade, long corridors of thick arches, and a grass courtyard. Inside stands a towering altar lavished in gold decoration and religious icons. Observe numerous old paintings and frescos hanging throughout. Head up to the organ loft or bell tower for encompassing views of the plaza. A nighttime light show tells town's history accompanied by a light projection on the church's façade. • This is a really beautiful old church with some nice alters inside. The grounds are really beautiful.
  • This place is highly overrated. Roy's review is correct. The rooms are empty and they charge money for the visit. You are better off seeing the exterior from the square.
  • Interesting place, rich with history. A little lacking in information around the place to know more, but well worth a visit.
  • The city is inviting everyone for free to come and see the history of this beautiful place. A spectacular show screen every night on the walls of the Convento.
  • valladolid very saddly city a lot of suicides in this town
