  • My wife and I (both seniors) were looking for a nice place to spend some time quietly with a nice view. We were recommended by locals to go and it was great. It is a 30 minutes drive from Tuxtla Gutie...  more »
  • Manos Que Imploran El Mirador is located in the place where the Sumidero already poured into the Lake (or originates from the Lake, I don't know how true) Chikoasen. And many reviews and photos describe the Sumidero Canyon belvederes. To see the real Mirador Manos Que Imploran you need to go from 190 Highway Tustly to San Fernando (who after Viva Cardenas, not Tustly itself exurb) and further on this same highway is almost the same distance to the Mirador. Then you can appreciate the whole expanse of Sumidero and Chikoasen!

  • Amazing view on the canon del sumidero, perched at more than 1000 metres this mirador offers a unique view over the canyon

  • Something removed from the tourist route, is a long way north of Tuxtla Gutierrez heading for Malpaso (where is the dam) but the view from this viewpoint is very unique and as it is very frequented in the evening returning to sleep the vultures/vultures that were touring the Canyon during the day. They ply the air hundreds of these scavengers and that speaks to us of the amount of life that exist in the area.
