(4.1/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Occupied since 1400 BCE, Chiapa de Corzo serves as a major archaeological site containing the earliest inscribed date and earliest Mesoamerican tomb burial. It also represents the oldest colonial town in the state of Chiapas and serves as a gateway for trips into the Sumidero Canyon. • This is a forced and bound to go to the sumidero Canyon to undertake the journey he has to come here. It's a tour you can do on the same day to the end of the journey through the Canyon, walking through the small streets and its square so typical and colorful as the one of our beautiful country. In this town you will find beautiful handcrafts, delicious cuisine and the warmth of the people. On my visit I was told that if he did not want to buy things they saw in Chiapa de corzo not buy them because as load of more and would find them in San Cristobal las Casas, lie! Please, if you see something you like, buy it, do not you think it twice, the quality and prices of the craftsmen of this place you won't find them anywhere, especially in the wood, I made the mistake of not to buy some beautiful wood nice crosses thinking that he would find and if I found them but at triple the price , it is a pity, gastronomy eat the typical dish of the place called "Cochito baking" in the market wow, it is a delight to the palate, as well as sit in the position of pozol de cacao to refresh yourself from high temperatures, nothing like that. It is certainly a nice place where you can relax knowing and enjoying the place. Remember to bring sunscreen, the place is warm humid, but in time of heat is an infiernillo.
