Avenida Revolucion, Tijuana

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
1.8/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web
Take a walk through the touristic center of the city on Avenida Revolucion, a main thoroughfare with plenty of history. In the early 20th century, the town's first paved road drew day-trippers from San Diego, and at the height of the Depression, it provided entertainment and alcohol banned or unavailable in the U.S. It was here that the Caesar salad was invented, at a restaurant called Hotel Caesar. The strip has had ongoing struggles with crime and poverty, but business appears to be picking up again, and the atmosphere remains as lively and hedonistic as ever.
