Ek Balam Mayan Ruins, Temozon

(4.8/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Transport yourself back in time as you admire the ancient and sophisticated Ek Balam Mayan Ruins, built well over 2000 years ago. A lesser-known and smaller ruin than others in the area, but no less impressive, the complex rarely gets busy, leaving you to explore on your own terms, and even climb the ruins themselves. Consider taking a guide with you to get the most out of the complex, and get a better impression of what life here was like all those years ago. Don’t forget your camera, bug spray, sunscreen, and plenty of water to keep you hydrated while you wander around the ruins. • The ruins are preserved and unlike other sides you can upload to the ruins and really worth because the view is beautiful. The best thing is that there is a cenote where you can cool off after exercise.

  • The third stage of our tour of the day followed the well-known Chitsen Itza and the cenote Hubiku. The question that kills: is that what looks like the other Mayan resort? Although this is also from the ruins of the maya people, the complex of Ek Balam differs from the other. By the way his name means "black jaguar". The Torre (the Tower) is the main attraction of the place. It is climbed in its markets by number of visitors and the panorama on the surrounding jungle is splendid according to climbers. But he must be fit, agile enough because the stones are uneven and not not too get dizzy... In addition, there is a beautiful building called the oval Palace. There is also a small Mayan ball game. The surrounding nature is luxuriant. The complex is certainly less spacious than Chitsen Itza but it has its charm, its history and worth a look.

  • Beautiful Mayan site. Not as big as others in the region but who deserves to visit. The view from the top of the pyramid offers a beautiful panorama on the forest. We can also observe engravings sculptures on the 1st level of the pyramid.
