Taste organic bananas, coconuts, grapefruits, and papayas, then relax in a hammock and listen to the sounds of birds singing while looking out for colorful butterflies who call this natural habitat home. A fantastic day. We toured up into the mountains above Huatulco. A place called Hagia Sofia. Originally an area cultivated for coffee by German immigrants. Apparently coffee was gold until the Second.... more »

A pretty little town at the top of the mountains. Great views in the center of the Oxahacan coffee region. This is where it all happens, great little coffee places and cute church, a must see if coffee is your passion.

A nice visit to the privately run botanical garden in Oaxaca. Breakfast, lunch, swim included in the price (800 pesos per person - booked directly with Hagia Sofia). Armando (the owner) named this place for his daughter. He's a knowledgeable and friendly guy, who expertly guided us through the amazing variety of plants and trees. There are multiple washrooms and rest points with refreshing drinks along the way. Lunch and breakfast are delicious. The waterfall is nice, and an excellent place to swim. Also included in the price is pickup from our hotel in Huatulco. Totally worth visiting if you're in Huatulco!
