Wildlife Area Nature / Park
See the indigenous archaeological site of Canada de la Virgen, an ancient temple complex belonging to the native Otomi people. Discovered in 1998 on private property, the site has only recently opened to the public. Take a guided tour of the complex to learn about the history of the ethnic group that inhabited these parts for thousands of years, and to acquaint yourself with their culture and traditions. View the ruins of the pyramids, thought to be ceremonial burial grounds, and climb the sloped structures for good views of the surroundings. • Who doesn't like pyramids? This one is 16 meters high, very cool. They are still working on it, but it is a nice drive from San Miguel de Allende. It takes about 2.5 hours to go through. But be sure an call ahead, groups sometimes reserve whole blocks. They also have a nice garden with local flora.
  • This is a very interesting place as we were told by our guide that the burial here is of a little girl dressed as a warrior. This is the only burial found so far and very unusual for a Mayan Pyramid. The place is lovely and very serene.
  • This place is beautiful. It's worth the time. Tour takes around 2 hours
  • Had an incredible tour here thanks to Coyote Canyon Adventures who organized that. It was amazing to see the link between archeology and astrology and how much we can learn from that pyramid!
  • Nice walk on this recent discovered pyramid
