  • This small museum/shop will teach you about amber, which helps immensely if you plan to buy some, since there are a lot of fake pieces offered for sale at the markets. The staff explains how to detect...  more »

  • The amber Museum is small, is barely a quarter of a couple of square meters. You can appreciate the process of step-by-step amber extraction and some showpieces. The most interesting are the insects that have been trapped in the resin. Price round about 30 weights and have discount for students. There same you can buy pieces of amber jewelry, but the price is high, however they guarantee you that they are genuine parts. Be careful with the piracy of amber that there are throughout the city and asked how to distinguish it.

  • Small but very interesting to visit and learn some. Also has one of extremely rare scorpions in Amber so that's very cool to see. And a beautiful and historic building.
  • Good little museum. They also give a quick lesson in how to tell real ambar from the fake stuff.
  • Great museum with amazing Amber sculptures, if you are looking to buy Amber I suggest visiting Simojovel in Chiapas
  • Small, but interesting and for 25 pesos I think it's worth it to learn a bit about amber and see some interesting pieces. All explanations are in Spanish.
  • True amber here, find where you must get to know alive in San Cristobal or come visit
