  • Found me very interesting, I didn't know so much about this semi precious stone, it is worth visiting it, is fairly well mounted and the cost of entry is very symbolic, only 20 pesos. Outside of the Museum sell beautiful pieces.

  • Gated, 20 pesos apiece, they give you a lens x better see some findings of old Amber. The guide is very nice and explained everything on amber ... It's just a little baby. Still to be seen.

  • If you are in San Cristobal you will see Amber everywhere. You will probably buy some amber, and just watching the video on fake amber is worth the price of admission. Don't miss the amber glasses.  more »

  • ambar at it's best. the museum is housed in a great historical building. the collection is the best in san cristobal. there is also a store that sells excellent quality ambar. one can be assured the ambar is genuine.
  • Small but very interesting to visit and learn some. Also has one of extremely rare scorpions in Amber so that's very cool to see. And a beautiful and historic building.
  • Small, but interesting and for 25 pesos I think it's worth it to learn a bit about amber and see some interesting pieces. All explanations are in Spanish.
  • Good little museum. They also give a quick lesson in how to tell real ambar from the fake stuff.
  • Great museum with amazing Amber sculptures, if you are looking to buy Amber I suggest visiting Simojovel in Chiapas
