  • Undeniably Miramar is beautiful and its water is crystal clear. But really there is not much to do. We took a tour to the 3 islands. The guide took us at 8 AM and I was still in my jacket. And then he...  more »
  • Getting here is super heavy, but for us if was worth it. They are as 8 hours in total. We left San Cristobal early and tried two routes: for Ocosingo and Comitán, took it one of ida and the other back. It seems to me that we started at Ocosingo. The two are practically the same, varies in some time and price, but is not very significant. The road is heavy as it is on trucks in dirt and you can not always be seated. Is very nice the landscape on the way... We arrived at a village called Emiliano Zapata in 5-6 hours... and Ah {i community is organized so that it can come to Miramar, including lend / rent their horses... one makes it Guide, others have to be guards at the lagoon, etc...} Of course all this costs. Then they are like 2 hours (depends on the rhythm) and that is to foot, yet which horses are available. We get us 1 horse and most of the time I was up I with all the weight that we loaded and awhile my husband. The way tmb is difficult because it is almost always full of mud... But this hike can also enjoy much, our guide was very pleasant... Them recommend take few things loading, but tmb is complicated because there not there is absolutely nothing! Nothing to buy, nothing! So tmb should be loaded with tent camping, etc. By the way, if I recommend you bring or rent boots water that is very complicated step... I am stubborn, not quer {ia rent them, but if it is worth the expense, the truth.} And very monkey is see how the community is as well organized. And suddenly the landscape opens and looks the lagoon! It is a maravillosaaaaaa, indescriptiuble thing in the middle of the selva Lacandona... highly recommended
