History Museum Museum
Visit the house of Frans and Gertrude Blom, Asociación Cultural Na Bolom, where they dedicated themselves to the protection of the Lacandon Mayans. The house, named after the Mayan word for jaguar, now serves as a museum and cultural center. See where the Danish archaeologist and the Swiss photographer lived, campaigned for the conservation of the Chiapas rainforest, and worked to protect the only Mayan people that were never colonized, the Lacandon. Take a tour of the grounds to learn about their lives; view memorabilia, relics, and photographs from their collection; and explore the picturesque hacienda. • an old mansion of the ruling elite in san cristobal converted into a museum celebrating the wild lives of franz and trudy blom. recently a change of administration has brought years of misuse to a screeching halt. the new administration is both honest and dedicated to making na bolom once again a center of caring, conservation and information for all. go.
  • A beautiful location and lovely examples of regional artifacts.
  • This is a place you have to visit while in San Cris. You'll fina a lot of interesting information about the history of this town and the Selva Lacandona. It could benefit of a better maintenance and a guided tour. Be sure to bring cash to buy some handcrafts from the locals selling there.
  • wonderful art displays
  • Great insight on the city and history of San Cristobal and the locals here.
