Plaza de Armas, Queretaro

4.7/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Head to the heart of Queretaro's historic center at Plaza de Armas, a bustling town square. Surrounded by 18th century architecture, the square represents a good point from which to view the city's colonial manors and mansions. A photographer's eye will be drawn to the open aspect of the square, in contrast to the often cramped streets around the historic center. Choose from a number of atmospheric restaurants, bars, and cafes, which line the square and offer alfresco wining and dining. The square's central fountain is topped by a statue of Juan Antonio de Urrutia y Arana, the nobleman and benefactor who funded so much of the city's development. For travelers who use our online itinerary creator, Queretaro holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Plaza de Armas and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • Good location in the Centre, to hang out and interact with the classic that you'll find in the Centre: sale of junk food, cafes, restaurants, etc.

  • Here you can wonderfully relax, to take a meal or a cup of coffee in the adjacent restaurants, or just sit. Often local bands play Mexican songs

  • The square of weapons is very well located and in the center of several restaurants, in a very beautiful area of Querétaro. I recommend everyone to visit the city.
