  • We visit the regional Museum ($ 55 MXN) adjacent to the San Francisco church. This former Franciscan monastery contains two great courtyards Ochre yellow and Red cadmium. Several artifacts trace the history of the region from the pre-Hispanic period and Chronicles of the period of Spanish colonization up to the revolution.

  • This is a world-class museum. The written explanations are top notch and the way that art is integrated into the exhibits is a feast for the eyes.
  • The building itself is incredible. Every little part of the museum is extremely interesting and accompanied by very good information.
  • A pretty architecture hosting a nice Mexican historical gallery. Check for schedules in order to get guidance or assistance .
  • Beautiful museum and architecture! Worthwhile even if you don't understand Spanish.
  • The museum's permanent collection on the ancient Mexican civilizations and baroque art is good, but the temporary exhibition on corn was fantastic. The housing of the museum in an old monastery is an attraction itself.

Where to stay in Queretaro City

Vacations in Queretaro tend to focus almost exclusively on the historic center, with the city's industrialized fringes offering little of interest to tourists. The vast majority of accommodations remain in the city's heart, with the dual-direction Carre Benito Juarez and surrounding streets offering a selection of budget-friendly and boutique hotels. If you're just looking for a place to rest your head before moving on to your next destination, look south to the neighborhood of Las Misiones, or west to La Capilla, where you can find some comfortable roadside hotels.
