Isla Marietas National Park, Punta de Mita
(4.1/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web)
Encounter a wealth of sea creatures at Isla Marietas National Park, a marine park centered around a group of small uninhabited islands. An hour-long boat ride from the coast of Puerto Vallarta gets you to the park, where government protection from fishing and hunting has created a rich and diverse ecosystem. Although you cannot access the islands--save for one secluded beach--the focus here is really on the water. Take a whale-watching tour to spot breaching humpbacks and dolphins, along with blue-footed boobies on the islands' rugged rocks. Alternatively, head beneath the surface on a snorkeling or scuba diving trip to meet manta rays, octopuses, and sea turtles. • It is a very important ecologically speaking place. It is a quite famous and very touristic place lately, and as a good biologist followed go, but won't say which is the way more easy to reach or cheaper because they are really much impacting this important area, "it is an enclosure" is a "ANP" However if I can recommend that this close and who wants to go to go! It's definitely something very special, very cute and unique on the planet. I recommend snorkeling there, even if you know dive would be great! and good to enjoy the famous beach of love, and other beautiful beaches... the sights lie footed Bobo! in the end :) very good place.

  • They returned to open the entrance to the Marietas Islands and they can not miss it! It is a unique place in the world, not only for fish, birds and rock formations, but it has the best beach in the region: Playa Escondida is a magical place! A kind of crater where you can reach swimming and that if the tide is low, but once inside all is peace and natural beauty. Access is restricted, there can be no more than 15 people at the same time, which is a good idea since it allows you a more personal experience on the beach. We came out from the cooperative of Punta de Mita (it is important to take a tour that has the appropriate permissions), it is a 15-minute trip by boat, we made stops for snorkeling, birding and we went down a few minutes on the beach La Nopalera. Our tour lasted approximately 3 hours.
