  • Vallarta by Boat did a good job on this trip. I've done the same trip with 2 other providers before. All have been fun. The announcements onboard go on for the first 30 minutes of the tour which is an...  more »
  • Well well, singed up for the Vallarta by Boat tour to the Islas Mareitas on friday October 13, 2017. The tour was roughly 1000 pesos per person with "Breakfast and Lunch Included". 8:45am-5pm. Many of...  more »
  • We reserve the tour to the Marietas Islands that did not include the entrance to hidden beach. I had so much fun during the entire tour. Since we left Nuevo Vallarta Leo and all the team that dealt with us were wonderful. They served us fruit and yogurt with granola for breakfast and ceviche (very interesting) pineapple, as well as cold salad of chicken, and marlin. All very rich. The activities we did were kayak, SUP and snorkeling, as well as a visit to Nopalera Beach on an island on the side of the main. I have to say that snorkeling was pretty bare-bones. Corals, there are even if some fish. It is better that you go not excited by a super snorkeling. To my I really enjoyed testing the SUP, was a very pleasant experience and I felt excellent to be included. Once aboard the ship there was possibility of entering to Playa Escondida instead of snorkeling. EYE: announced it as that "they had limited and extra tickets to Playa Escondida" at a cost of 1000 Mexican pesos. For us not it was worth at least pay 60USD by going to a beach swimming through a relatively strong current, but the truth is that thus had come out cheaper the tour with entrance to the famous beach. Once completed the activities we undertook our return and in terms of animation I was impressed very much. There was open bar and many good vibes. I recommend this company and this tour 100%!

  • Our tour was for Yelapa/Majuhitas. The crew was fun. The drinks were fine not great, but kept coming. Don't expect first class amenities but you will have some fun. The continental breakfast food on boat was less than great, granola yogurt and some fruit. The snorkeling was good, but be aware that if you lose any part of the gear you're gonna owe them $500pesos! The hike to the waterfall is free but if you wanna ride a horse it's $400 pesos extra per person. The beach/town is beautiful. Lunch on beach lacks organization but food was good. Drinks on beach are not included with lunch. Saw some whales on the way back and captain doubled back for a better view. Crew: Lazaro, Claudia (photographer) Herber, Pedro and Mauricio. Fun people We paid: 1400 pesos for 2 people which is not a bad price for 8 hours of entertainment.
  • We just happened to find this tour online and booked it just a few days in advance and what a stroke of luck. The tour was mostly Mexicans but very international with other Americans, Cubans and numerous other countries. The crew is OUTSTANDING. They are hilarious and do all kinds of slap stick, dancing and jokes. We had 11 family members go including my 73 year old mom and everyone had a fantastic fine. The food is excellent, service is fantastic, the Marietas islands were gorgeous and the open bar and dancing on the way back to the marina from the islands was so memorable. We were so lucky to see about 7 whales! I would highly recommend this tour if you want a real authentic experience not just being with 80 other americans in Mexico.
  • Poorly operated company.
  • The guy we booked with, David, was knowledgeable, funny, professional. The crew was fun, very safe, helpful, polite and...oh yeah...FUN. We went to the hidden beach. The swim in was scary (get them to show you how to wear the life jacket around your waste) but was worth it. And the guide stayed with me while I struggled against the jacket. The swim out was WAY better once the jacket was around my waste (it did chafe my arms a bit but at least I could breath). My friend got awesome snorkeling pics. The music and energy and food were all fantastic. The only downfall was the choppy ride back to PV. But the captain knew what he was doing and the dj kept the spirits up (aside from playing a remix of "My Heart Will Go On" which isn't comforting in rough waters lol) I have and would continue to recommend this tour company.
  • The only good thing... the beach... from there on out your service, equipment, food (with the exception of the beach), LOUSY drinks and hygiene! Promise you many things, and the hour is a disgusting! The water where we snorkel was foul nor see anything (when they tell you that the water is very clear and the colors of the vegetation and fish that inhabit are clear), do not give you indications for use the equipment (that for some this all pork) and water if you lose it, because they want it to charge as if it were new and gold! The cascade you only can get if you spend a minimum of 50 pesos in that restaurant and are only 15 minutes from stay and 2 hours of walk (round-trip) or a horse (round trip) for $200 horse! AND THAT NEVER TEA THING MENTIONED WHEN TEA TALKING PACKAGE! Very bad hygiene in the boat, pull drinks passengers not taken to sea! and reuse the cups! NOT THE TAKE!, IT IS VERY, VERY POOR SERVICE AND MOST OF THE PASSENGERS WERE UNHAPPY... SEE YOU ONLY THE FACE... BALL OF LIARS... THIEVES!

Where to stay in Puerto Vallarta

The appropriately named Hotel Zone, at the coastal fringe of the city center, serves as one of the most popular areas to stay, with equally good access to the beach and the amenities within the city. Private rentals are particularly popular, with the Hotel Zone and the equally vibrant hub of Emiliano Zapata to the south offering plenty of condominiums to complement the range of budget, mid-range, and luxury hotels. Many of the city's best gay-friendly accommodations are found at the southern fringe of the old town.
