Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 1,900+ reviews on the web
Inspect a wonderfully vibrant variety of plants at Vallarta Botanical Gardens, an environmentally minded site set on 8 ha (20 ac) of native forest and perfectly manicured landscape. Hike the extensive trails through the flora, and keep one eye on the canopy looking out for exotic birds, especially at the beginning or end of the day. It's worth bringing some bug spray and considering wearing long trousers and sleeves to protect against biting insects. Be sure to bring some swimwear and a towel so you can cool off with a dip in the Rio Horcones. • Beautiful scenery in a nice hidden location. So peaceful and definitely worth a visit. Food and drink available for a decent price. Gets very hot and humid though so be prepared!
  • The botanical gardens are a nice and quiet place to walk. I visited it with my mom and some friends we made on the bus on our way to the BG. My main goal was to go to the river however, we got lost on...  read more »

  • One of Puerto Vallarta's most popular attractions, the Vallarta Botanical Gardens is a place in which you can easily spend an entire day enjoying their different plant collections, exploring hiking trails, swimming in the nearby Horcones River, relaxing and taking in the afternoon breeze while reading a book, enjoying a brick oven pizza or other specialties available at their restaurant, or sipping a refreshing margarita.
  • Probably the best botanical Garden of any I have visited in Mexico. Very nice orchid collection and a nice 2nd floor cafe to relax and enjoy the panoramic views.
  • A beautiful tropical garden focused on native plant preservation (but also with a wide variety of other plants) about 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta's Romantic Zone. There are multiple paths and trails through gardens and wooded hills, three growing houses and pavilions, and a main building with comfortable seating, a gift shop, and a cafe with reasonably priced, tasty food. Located on a bus line, you can get to and from the gardens cheaply, but taxis are not too expensive.
  • Glorious jungle trails and a great little gift shop and restaurant. Come to hike the trails or peruse the lawns and gardens. Fabulous.
  • Wonderful place to spend the day, you must have lunch! And if you are hot there is great river swimming holes!
