  • The malecón is the distinctive waterfront of the city and a must-see without a doubt. If you are passing through, first the Boardwalk and then see if there is time for more. Panoramic photos, beautiful bronze statues, the Seahorse sea, street vendors, shops and classic lyrics giant and colorful poster. Best in the evening or in the early hours of the morning. The idea is brisk walking slow and comfortable, without overwhelming heat, wearing lightweight and well hydrated. At the end of the tour we visit Playa de los Muertos Pier and killed two birds with one stone.

  • Malecon was one of the highlights of our trip. There were so many authentic, jewelry and souvenir shops to choose from. There were many restaurants and even a McDonald's for a soft ice cream. There were at least 4 clubs that seemed really awesome... we couldn't wait to get back later. The bronze sculptures are amazing especially in person. The priestess ladder statue was really amazing. Whatever you do make sure you go to this boardwalk... you will not be disappointed.
  • One of the must places to see in Puerto Vallarta, it has the most beautiful bronze sculptures I’ve ever seen in one place. A Vivacious and full of activities, souvenir shops and restaurants. In the morning you see joggers, in the evening families walking the boardwalk and enjoy the magnificent sunset.
  • This is the boardwalk. There’s so many things going on here. You will find different vendors, performers and people from different places! Its nice to walk around 7pm until you get tired and full!
  • I totally recommend visiting the malecon in Puerto Vallarta it's one of the nicest vacations I've been too. The food is delicious and the people who live and work here are awesome .
  • If you are going to Puerto Vallarta, then the Malecon is a must see, it has lots of interesting statues, monuments, sidewalk vendors, and speciality shops alone with many great places to eat. Plan on spending about an hour and a half walking the one-plus mile, and then another hour in the shops or eateries. Also, be sure to hit the art galleries that are on the side streets on both sides of the main road {200}. Be careful of the Monkey, he will want to kiss you and get a picture, and then ask for a '$$ tip'. It is best to start from the lower end of the walkway on the other side of the foot bridge and walk northward to the Ladder, and then toward the mountains and the art galleries. Note that the Navy Museum is closed on Mondays, as are many of the restaurants and other attractions of the area. Do your research and plan ahead. PS. We were somewhat lost as we had the street names and place locations, but from the Malecon walkway these are not well marked and you can miss each. To the credit of the people of Puerto Vallarta, citizens seeing us struggling with the maps came to our rescue without hesitation and without wanting anything other than to help. Thanks... Also to the credit of the citizens of Puerto Vallarta, we were not bothered by street beggars as sometimes happens in the U.S.A. / Mexico border towns. We felt safe, and we found the people to be very helpful, kind, warm, and interesting.
