  • What to say? Malecón is a lovely walk through town. So many young couples and their kids. Young couples flirting. Older LBTQ couples relaxed and accepted. My wife and daughter laughing as they shopped...  more »

  • If you are going to Puerto Vallarta, then the Malecon is a must see, it has lots of interesting statues, monuments, sidewalk vendors, and speciality shops alone with many great places to eat. Plan on spending about an hour and a half walking the one-plus mile, and then another hour in the shops or eateries. Also, be sure to hit the art galleries that are on the side streets on both sides of the main road {200}. Be careful of the Monkey, he will want to kiss you and get a picture, and then ask for a '$$ tip'. It is best to start from the lower end of the walkway on the other side of the foot bridge and walk northward to the Ladder, and then toward the mountains and the art galleries. Note that the Navy Museum is closed on Mondays, as are many of the restaurants and other attractions of the area. Do your research and plan ahead. PS. We were somewhat lost as we had the street names and place locations, but from the Malecon walkway these are not well marked and you can miss each. To the credit of the people of Puerto Vallarta, citizens seeing us struggling with the maps came to our rescue without hesitation and without wanting anything other than to help. Thanks... Also to the credit of the citizens of Puerto Vallarta, we were not bothered by street beggars as sometimes happens in the U.S.A. / Mexico border towns. We felt safe, and we found the people to be very helpful, kind, warm, and interesting.
  • Fantastic coastal beach walkway. Safe well lighted. Cool ocean breeze at night. Lots of street vendors and always lots of people watching. Kids playing and great gathering place. Bars and restaurants galore and lots of free entertainment
  • Great stores. Beautiful place to walk at night. The area is full of stores, clubs, restaurants, statues, street artists, and georgous views of the bay. Don't be afarid to walk up off the main Street either, there are some good shopping spots hidden away. Everyone there is super friendly and welcomes you to their little slice of paradise. Around 8:30pm each night you can see a pirate fight out in the bay which has fireworks - very entertaining
  • Nice spot. Stayed on the Malecon for 9 days and there was something different everyday. It's safe. Plenty of food and entertainment options. If you stay on the Malecon be mindful of the noise level at night. It's a great place to go for a run in the mornings.
  • Wonderful boardwalk with lots of statues. Lots of restaurants and bars all along the Malecon. Shopping is plentiful and street vendors. Beach is accessible from the boardwalk. Bike lanes along much of it also.
