Marietas Islands, Puerto Vallarta

(3.7/5 based on 2,000+ reviews on the web)
Discover the hidden beach at Marietas Islands. Created by scores of government bomb tests, and eventually rescued after Jacques Cousteau brought it to the attention of the world, the now-protected islands teem with diverse marine and bird life, and feature strange rock formations. Snorkel the island's waters for the chance to see manta rays, sea turtles, and dolphins, the navigate your way through a natural tunnel at low tide to visit the secret beach, which is essentially a bomb crater. Be sure to bring some waterproof sunscreen, as the islands offer little in the way of shade. Marietas Islands is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our custom trip planner, Puerto Vallarta Edition.

  • This place is always so busy. The food is good and the staff is also very good but not the place if you want to linger and enjoy an after dinner drink.  more »
  • I and my spouse enjoyed this tour on Saturday March 4, 2017. The best:-small group of 9 people nothing more. -Fast boat to reach the first marietas island and enjoy the beach. -Flexibility of the captain (Jesus) at the time of return to Puerto vallarta. We saw whales, turtles, mantas stripe, etc. Excellent. -Danny guide tourist kept us informed of everything at any time. Our photographer take amazing snapshots. Worst:-you cite at 7 AM at the maritime station out to the 7h30Am (is what tells the tour) arriving inform us that we must wait for the entry of a cruise to the 8ham (this programmed are cruisers know it to dock in port) then we inform the marietas not opening until after the 8h30am. The schedules were not respected. -Also slow a lot the sharing of photographs from the tour.
