El Faro Lighthouse, Puerto Vallarta

(4/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web)
At El Faro Lighthouse, take in picturesque views over the Pacific Ocean from one of Puerto Vallarta’s primary landmarks. At the top of the 33 m (110 ft) high structure, find a circular cocktail lounge. Have a delicious drink at the fancy bar, known as one of the local area’s most romantic night spots. If you stay late enough, you'll be rewarded with an eye-pleasing sunset. The lighthouse now stands primarily for show rather than practicality, with its visibility limited by the surrounding buildings. For travelers who use our world travel planner, Puerto Vallarta holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the El Faro Lighthouse and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

  • El Faro Lighthouse is located in a Marina Puerto . Unfortunately the sunsets are obstructed by high rise buildings. Otherwise the view is magnificent and the elevator make the climb easy.  more »
  • The Marina has great restaurants along the walkway, but the lighthouse has the best view in all of Puerto Vallarta...  more »
  • We stopped by for a pre-dinner drink. We had an excellent view and it was just fun to hang out at the top of the Lighthouse. A bit crowded and noisy but its a bar featuring sunset views. Highly recomm...  more »

  • Nice bar/lounge with a nice view to catch up with friends. Most evenings there will be live music which is great but the regular tunes can be very loud. Drinks are on the pricier side but not unexpected. Take the stairs from the harbor up to the second floor for the elevator (which is tiny and only fits 3 guests and the extraneous operator). You can also take the spiral stairs to the top.
  • Great view, unfortunately buildings have been erected in the surroundings that obstruct the sunset views...
  • Fabulous view, friendly staff, but watch out they will clone your debit card and wipe out your accounts. Make sure you pay with cash if you decide to venture in.
  • Unreal place a must see ice cold beers also
  • Excellent bar to chat and have a pleasant time. Amazing view and cozy atmosphere. They need to improve a little food supply
