4.5/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web
Get to know Vallarta and its people during a visit to El Centro, an old neighborhood with much to explore. As the cultural and commercial center of town, the district has pleasant public plazas where local musicians ply their trade, and small stalls that sell locally made handicrafts and souvenirs. The narrow cobblestone streets of the area invite you to explore off the beaten track and discover something away from the crowds, with rustic restaurants and bohemian bars seemingly around every corner. Reaching right down to the oceanfront boardwalk, the district offers plenty of color and culture, all within walking distance. Using our custom trip planner, Puerto Vallarta attractions like El Centro can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

  • Good place with many options of entertainment, meals and walks. The Boardwalk has plenty of life at all times and much presence of epolicias, it appears safety.

  • I'm very pleased that downtown Vallarta remains a pleasant place and increasingly fix it more details... in recent years was seeing that many local had closed and the date go on like this. I think that they could give more thrust if the Government invest more in other best things that put large on the Boardwalk. First, I feel that it is necessary to fix the streets of downtown or at least the main, since the pavement is a martyrdom for walking and for cars, they make very annoying and very slow journey either by car or truck, won't lose the nice touch the place if they change the cobblestone for asphalt. Public transport because it is very very old and polluting image given a dreadful fate and such as scrap metal they make too much noise when they pass on the pavement; take into account that they drive very fast. You need care the entrance to the Center from the boulevard (coming from the side of the Sheraton), is very dark and neglected that area, dangerous especially if you walk across the small bridge that enters the Center. All Vallarta badly synchronized traffic lights, is a way of the cross go stopping at all because of forward are green and your standing in the previous one, when you advance you already play in red ahead of and is the same story in every cruise. The entrance to the Center by the Beltway is horrible, full stops, but especially in this area the pavement this badly. I wish the Government to do something for these small but very noticeable problems especially for the inhabitants of Vallarta.

  • The historic centre of Puerto Vallarta, perfect to walk and get to know the architecture that draws attention to the geography in which it is. Constructions in Highlands, visit the shops of handicrafts to take some souvenirs. Be prepared for how much thing to walk and the heat.
