  • I really love this place. I wasn’t expecting a place as big as this is. Is a very enjoyable experience if you love the flora. I liked the representation of the little mayan house. Dalia is GREAT...  more »
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent here while on vacation nearby recently. I spent a few hours taking my time walking through the entire loop, stopping to take photos and look at the various plants...  more »
  • I went here thinking it would be a good place to see birds but due to a hurricane a few years back, the trees that attracted the birds fell down and although the garden is quite jungly and devoid of.....  more »
  • Awesome afternoon excursion into the jungle. We especially liked the tower and hanging bridge with the 4 and 7 year olds. And we saw spider monkeys!
  • Don't waste your time and money. We did not see any birds, monkeys, or any animal at all except many mosquitos. A few plants have a small plaque saying what it is, but I was not impressed. There is nothing at all else to see from the so-called lookout tower, except you see the tops of more trees. One star is too many stars for this "botanical garden"
  • The botanical gardens and archeological site are overlooked gems. Established many years ago, the gardens are diverse and mature. Raised beds of traditional Mayan medicinal herbs may also be seen under cultivation. Archeology spans from Mayan ruins, through the gum harvesting era to rebuilt Mayan huts. A morning walk will often include sightings of monkeys in tree canopy. Reasonably priced entrance is helpful to land preservation as well as local awareness of environmental issues. The entrance is difficult to see. When heading North on route 307 slow down immediately after taking the Puerto Morelos exit. This two lane exit has the entrance which is easily bypassed, go slow and keep close watch.
  • Saw a pack of howler monkeys but not much else. Some of the stops (see stairs, hanging bridge) need some work to kerp/make them safe
  • Simply a 2km walk across a "kind of" small jungle. Yes, you can see a couple monkeys and iguanas, the mirador gives you a half hearted look towards the sea... But apart if this is the only "nature" activity you get to do in Mexico, we think you should skip it. The Mayans beehive are simply a half dozen wooden rectangles with a pencil sized hole in it. And the occasional bee coming in or out. Also, for the first half of the walk we can still hear the highway near :(
