  • Hi all, in the month of January I plan a trip to Puerto Escondido and I'd like to visit both Chacahua and Mazunte, anyone know how to get from one place to another? In chacahua I plan to stay in the cabins Isabel, anyone have any recommendation of the place? And in Mazunte at Posada Ecohabitas? Thank you!

  • A place away from the hustle and bustle, the super friendly people, the cost of the boats seemed excessive, they charged us 800 per person, to the after waiting an hour to the edge of the lagoon became a community launch (where the people of puebla are transported) and pay 100 pax. We carry country house, I saw a few small rooms but so I could see I will not stay there, I think it's better to take your houses. You can go rowing, we saw the Rainbow, the food is very simply and at a great price. I want to go back!

  • Chacahua is an ecological reserve located in a corner of Oaxaca, with few inhabitants but with an incredible natural attraction... The way to arrive is a little complicated, since leaving the airport of Puerto Escondido should take transport to go to Zapotalito and from there a boat to arrive at Chacahua. There is another trail land route, but the road between the mangroves is definitely beautiful, something not to be missed... Almost finishing the mangrove area our friend boatman Alfredo led us to the crocodile which saw some specimens of different sizes, we returned to the boat and after 5 minutitos touched terra firma. We arrive at the cabins of the Ishamar restaurant where we attended luxury, Ulysses and his family are actually very attentive people that give you information about the sites that you can visit without problem and with the advantage of also have a boat, we invite you to stroll to the sea and at night to watch the spectacle of the bioluminescence... This ride is incredible since is distinguishes the color that is produces in the water with the movement to part of have a stunning view of the sky since all around is completely dark. The cabins that rent are of good size, clean, have privacy and a price per night super economic $200 with a bed double and $300 with two beds. The food is super fresh, rich and very affordable... To get to the beach only there is like 5 minutes walk, is a very nice Bay where the waves are in some quiet parts and other a bit strong... There are no hotels Fortunately, only few restaurants served by the same people who preserve this magical place... Really is a beautiful place where you can go and disconnect from the world to enjoy only a pinch of what nature offers :)
