Amparo Museum (Museo Amparo), Puebla

(4.5/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Learn the history of the nation at Amparo Museum (Museo Amparo), a cultural institution with a vast collection of artifacts and artworks. Located across two colonial-era buildings in the town's historic center, the museum traces the country's development through displays dating from 2500 BCE to the modern era. Admire sculptures, altars, and figures, handmade by artisans from each of the country's pre-Columbian civilizations, including Aztecs, Mayans, Totonacs, and Teotihuacans. The museum displays many of its colonial-era pieces in situ, across the rooms of the period houses. Don't miss the formidable Mexican modern art collection. • The Amparo Museum is in the Centre of the city of Puebla, a block from the zocalo. It is a very well put Museum with very good explanations, although the cards cannot read very well given the color as equal from the bottom of the paper. It seemed to me that the renovation was fantastic and will visiting without problems since one of a room that still happens. Cafe seemed beautiful and climb to be awhile in it enjoying a coffee or a sandwich, since it has a beautiful view, in addition to having a beautiful terrace full of plants.

  • Great contemporary art museum in Puebla city, the new building is well designed and the rooftop is a must to have a drink while you enjoy the city line. The exhibitions are very good
  • Its a nice space and building. The artwork was different to what I imagined would be in there but still enjoyable. There was some rooms filled with Mexican history and furniture which was interesting. Some of the contemporary pieces weren't so. The best bit for me was the roof and the views of the City from up there.
  • Great museum, must visit if you're in Puebla
  • beautiful place!
  • Visit the beautiful rooftop with 360 views of the city.
