Visit colonial Mexico's first public library at Biblioteca Palafoxiana, which UNESCO added to the Memory of the World Register in 2005. The library was established in 1646, when Juan de Palafox y Mendoza, bishop of Puebla, donated 5,000 of his own books to the Colegio de San Juan, stipulating that they be accessible to everyone. The current building dates from 1773; today, it houses a collection of more than 41,000 books and manuscripts from the 15th to the 20th century.   • Slide data age 1700 founded by Bishop Juan de palafox mendoza their books variety is really interesting apart from the amount it contains, and several languages, architecture with stucco and great dome will be interesting to make the visit, together with magnificent cathedral

  • Nice building with a huge room for old first public library in America, it has a beautiful design to watch and enjoy for a minute.

  • There are some seriously old books in there and a great amount of history. The interior is spacious, historical, interesting and contains some cool furniture. Worth a look.
