This is a great time if you are an active person. If your out of shape...like really out of shape and don't like climbing lots of stairs and walking up towers to the next zip line, don't go zip lining... read more »
The park IS excellent fun. The attractions and food are great. The zip line staff is professional and take safety seriously. I was scared before but not after they attached the safety gear -- I felt like I was in good hands. I also enjoyed the ATV track - especially going over an Indiana Jones class bridge. Things to know BEFORE you go: - take water shoes as you WILL get wet (that wasn't clear from the website) - unless you have a GoPro (with the water-proof cover), don't bother taking a camera -- everything goes in the lockers - finding the entrance to parking is easy, entrance to the attraction was not obvious (it's on the opposite side of the parking lot from the gift shop - there are no park maps (online or hard copy) except for a few posted once you are inside-- signage IS pretty good inside For the plus size person: while I was under the weight limit, my thunder thighs were a problem for the proper harness placement. The zip line staff provide additional harnessing for me and restricted me to three runs. I felt comfortable the whole time. They were polite, respectful, and confident. If you have to have this kind of experience it couldn't have been handled better. I was really impressed.
Unbelievable experience- totally did not expect to have had such an amazing day! Really professional, safe and friendly environment, as well as utterly beautiful. My husband and 2 boys have had the experience of a lifetime- especially with the zip wire high in the sky over the jungle. Well done Xplor!
Fabulous Day! We (family of 4 with 18 and 21 year old daughters) visited Xplor a few weeks ago while on a cruise and had a great time! We were able to do all 4 activities! What saved us a ton of time was choosing the "smaller" zip line run which had plenty of zip lines, sent us through waterfalls and into pools of water. There was even a water slide. Very cool! Going through the caverns was incredible!! A truly unique experience! Our guide that accompanied us from the cruise ship was also very helpful! He directed us through shortcuts that cut a lot of time walking through the park. Everything was clean and well-organized! I would definitely recommend!
My fiancee and I visited on a Thursday evening in June and despite arriving a bit late and starting with the driving rather than zip lines this was a great experience. Yes the price is high (compared to UK theme parks) though we could have saved by booking in advance and the actual 'rides' were so much better than a normal theme park. Admittedly there was only the zip lines (30-40 minute circuit of 7 zip lines), driving (10-15 minute circuit), swim (30 mins) and the rafting (10-15 mins) which isn't much so be prepared to do some activities twice. In fact we did zip lining once it was completely dark and this was by far the most fun - on some we were strapped together and later in the evening the queue was non-existent. We did driving a second time (so each of us could have a drive) and the night time drive was much better. Swimming in the caves was also great as we did this with no one else so it felt exclusive. The actual swim and sights of the caves was most impressive. Rafting was a bit meh but still fun. The food was good with one buffet restaurant and a few drink stations (all included in the price) so there was time to fuel up between rides. What was strange was that you could walk from one part of the park to another (10 minutes apart) and not see a soul, very eerie when in the underground caves! It's also worth noting you do get soaked so you'll be walking around dripping wet most of the time. We didn't wear anything on our feet which was fine - you don't NEED wet shoes etc.
Had a great time at Xplor yesterday. Firstly, I am not one for extreme adventures and usually stick to the regular strapped & harnessed in for 45 seconds super fast roller coaster rides, but my niece has been super psyched about going to Xplor, so I did my best to hide my terror and off we went. When we arrived we had to sign a mandatory Liability Waiver. Just reading" we are not responsible" in the event you die while participating in our activities did nothing to assauge my fears either. The park is set up nicely with a central area called The Heart which all the activities branch off from. Traveling to activities was interesting as you travel through caverns and caves to get to all the different areas. Dark damp and quite cool. So I was quite ambitious and started with the River Swim. Our guide had said we only needed to know swimming basics since you'd have a life vest- Uh-no-I am not a swimmer and being in a dark cave in 7 ft of water was not my thing so I backed out of that one after 2.5 seconds in the water. Next was the Hammock zip line. .that was fun- not long at all, not too high and a splash down into a beautiful pool. I can't say enough about the scenery in the entire place ijust awesome... Next we did the amphibious vehicles- that was cool. My adrenalin was flowing by that time soafter much begging and pleading by my niece i finally agreed to do the zip line. There are 2 circuits, Jaguar & Deer. We chose Jaguar...which had 9- yes Nine ziplines, the tallest of which is close to 150 ft high.- did I mention I was hand shaking my afraid of heights?? So yea, you get fitted and correctly strapped into your harness by staff- Thank God- then your off to climb a series of stairs/ towers to each successive Tower & zip line. The first couple climbs were ok but by Tower 4 or 5 the climb was quite a hike. One tower spiraled up at such a nauseating incline that had most ( even the kids) winded. The park staff are totally professional and always checked in asking if I was ok. They're harnessed to the tower at all times and when they set up ur line they harness themselves to you until it's time to launch off. The views were breathtaking and I actually wasn't too petrified after the 2nd or 3rd launch., and by the lady tower I felt totally exhilarated. The last zip line you splash down into water which felt great after such a long time climbing and zipping. The entire circuit takes about an hour and a half and can only be done once (according to park staff) After that we had lunch. The food was delish. Hands down the best amusement park food I've had- ever. Of course they push you to buy the picture package but if you have one of the waterproof phone cases you'll fare much better. ( they sell those too but overpriced of course) All in all I had an unforgetably terrific time and would definitely recommend this location. Friendly, helpful staff, clean facilities, you can't go wrong going here.
