Create an itinerary including Xcaret
Take a short drive out of Cancun to Xcaret, where ecologically oriented activities cater to visitors of all ages. The theme park gets its name from a nearby settlement once inhabited by the pre-Columbian Maya, and some of the original village's structures remain. The park's 81 hectare (20 acre) grounds also contain a coral reef aquarium, bird and butterfly pavilions, bat cave, deer shelter, and a greenhouse designed to protect and display delicate orchids and bromeliads. Aiming to entertain both adults and children, the park's nature-based activities include snorkeling with sea turtles and swimming with dolphins. Check the official website for ticket discounts and a complete listing of special performances and family-friendly activities. • So much to do, we stayed at the adjacent hotel so had loads of time to get around, but underground rivers, snorkelling, wildlife, historical ruins, and much more make it a brilliant place to visit...

  • this is basically a huge zoo with a show at the end. it is good but the show does drag on a bit. if you want to do swimming with dolphins please choose either this place or xel-ha as lots of hotels...

  • I loved Xcaret. There are literally things to do for everyone. The food quality is phenomenal. You can enjoy yourself there even if you don't do any of the activities. They have a small zoo and some private beaches you can chill at as well. The service of the workers is top notch. You can tell they focus on providing a great experience for the guests. Don't miss out on the night show because it is 40% of the overall experience. 5/5 stars
  • It was a very incredible park. I jumped off a small cliff and floated down the most of the river. It was very relaxing, and there was so much to do. They had picture stations everywhere so you can take a pic with a lot of the scenery. My brother and his girlfriend went scuba/snorkeling and told me about all the fish they saw. We couldn’t do everything in one day but it would definitely be worth trying. The food was delicious. They had multiple places to eat and drink. I got to try a different style of Mexican food and it’s always nice to taste the regional differences. I would definitely try to come here again another time.
  • A lovely place full of wildlife and amazing scenery. You start one activity and end up completely different start and end of the trails. Really enjoyed swimming in the river and under the caves. Found the inlet to be overcrowded and a little chaotic. There was no where to leave glasses which I have to use when not swimming as I cannot see. So lack of lockers disappointing. Plenty of restaurants available and although we had to queue we didn't have to wait long. The show at the end was very good.
  • This place is not for the faint of heart. What I mean by that is that you will need to be hydrated and ready to walk, A LOT! There is so much to do and honestly may take two days to actually enjoy it all. The top moment for me was the river that you float along for about an hour and a half. Depending on how fast you swim, but I recommend just floating along. Lot of animals and sightseeing and a good buffet.
  • Amazing experience! It is a whole day item. We decided last minute we wanted to do this and were able to get tickets through our resort and drove ourselves. Would've been better if we had the whole day. The aviary is phenomenal, unlike anything I've seen before. Fair amount of wildlife throughout the park and numerous activities, be prepared to walk around a lot. We almost didn't go and we're glad we did. The show at the end of the day is also a must.
