  • Add this to the list of the many places to visit while strolling through the charming streets of Patzcuaro. 
  • Is in the Center, is a temple very old but well preserved. Together is the former convent, which is a very nice building where there are frequent exhibitions.

  • Temple of the company company in Patzcuaro Temple dates from the 17TH century and presents the Baroque style, its façade displays a niche with the sculpture of St. IGNATIUS of LOYOLA founded the society of Jesus (Jesuit order). In its interior presents 19th-century neoclassical altars, a painting of the Virgin of SANTA MARIA LA major which is attributed was sent bring to Patzcuaro by Vasco de Quiroga in the 16th century. Formerly next to the altar is were guarding the mortal remains of Vasco de Quiroga, which were moved to its current location in the mausoleum that I enable the Basilica's health. Originally in the 16th century, where today is located the company's temple was a church that functioned as a PROVISIONAL CATHEDRAL while it built what would become the definitive Cathedral (present Basilica de la Salud). Later the temple and the surrounding grounds were donated to the Jesuits being pressured her convent. The early Church and convent was replaced by the current buildings dating from the end of the 17TH century having some architectural modifications later.
